Kent & East Sussex Railway
Just back from a wonderful day, bit unexpected, as Lesley was not due out of her cage till later in the week, but it was raining first thing, so we decided that a trip on the train and some retail therapy was in order, I dressed, and we drove over to Bodiam Castle, only had time for a very quick visit, as we were catching the steam train to Tenterden.
We walked up the lane to the station at Bodiam, stopped raining now, B bought the tickets and we had a look around, the Nurse Cavell truck was very moving, there really have been some very brave people , then we sat on a bench waiting for the train, B took a few pics while we waited, when the train arived loads of people got off, but only a few were travelling our way, so we had a nice choice of seats, loved traveling along, all excited like a school girl to be out again, looking out of the windows, and chatting to B, decided to take coffee and a bun on the train, the young chap, that bought us the coffee was very sweet to me, chatty too, and the ticket man also lovely.
When we got to Tenterden, we alighted, and B took a few pics of me around the station while the engine moved around, then after a visit to the Ladies, we walked up to the main street, and wandered around the town, quite busy, went into all the charity shops, I tried on and bought a gold cardi (wearing it while I,m writing this) and also a gorgeous cocktail dress, tiny bit tight, but looks lovely on, mind you had to take my hair off to get it off again!! All the people in the shops were lovely, and B and I felt very relaxed, just looking around, we had lunch in a small cafe down a side street, very nice lady at the tills, gave me a lovely smile and asked how my day had been, I told her I was having a wonderful day thank you lol
After lunch we continued around the town, checking all the shops we could find, and then back to the railway station, where we had an ice cream Caught the train back, the station was very crowded, couldn't get a decent pic of me by the engine, and looking at the pics, I definitely need new hair! Sat and ate and chatted on the journey back, B took some nice pics of me, then when we got back to Bodiam, we had a good look around the NT shop, and visited the ladies.
We drove back to our cottage, and I changed into my evening outfit, in the evening, we went to Bexhill, where we had seen a big M & S and Next by Tescos, rather disappointed with both though, much smaller than they looked, and nothing took our fancy at all, so we went into Tescos for the weekly shopping had a nice wander around pushing the trolly, playing at house, had a good sort through the sale rail in the clothes, found a nice cream cardi, changing rooms were closed, so had to try it on in the main shop, looks good though, then also found some earrings, B let me buy all the things at the tills, nice lady was very helpful with the packing, afterwards we drove home, and I cooked us a lovely meal.
