Day two,

Well B and I had enjoyed our full day out driving down to the coast, so we decided that Sunday morning was going to be a Husband and Wife time, then in the afternoon Lesley could be unleashed on an unsuspecting world again! So we had a nice morning, walking along the coast and just generally wandering, but what to do in the afternoon? Well the weather wasn’t that good, so we decided on a trip on the Swanage railway.

So after lunch I changed, and we drove down to Swanage, parked up and went to the railway, bit later than we thought, but luckily the train was late also, so we had time for a few photos on the platform and as the train came in, far more people about, that we had thought there would be, but managed to find nice seats near the front of the train, we had a lovely journey, chatting away and looking at the scenery,

When we arrived at Corfe castle, there were loads of folks waiting for the train, so decided to get off there and have a look around, threading our way through the crowds we had a wander along the platforms and over the bridge while B was taking pics of me, then off to the village itself, again so many people about, but we wandered the shops, having a nice poke around, finally ending up at the national trust café by the castle, managed to grab a table, so full of people, but the nice man at the counter sorted us out with Tea and a pumpkin scone, delicious, the place was heaving, but so nice in our corner people watching, no one seemed interested in me which is exactly how we like it

What next, well as we were there seemed rude not to go into the castle itself, we had a happy hour or so looking around, always makes me think of the Famous Five books whenever I’m there as Georges castle is supposed to be based on Corfe.

After a while we realised that it was nearly time for the train, so walked back down through the castle and village, to the station, rather less people about now, so sat in the ladies waiting room, by the fire, and warmed up a bit, then, just before the train came, went outside for a few more pics. Got some god seats on the train, had a nice chat to the ticket lady, who seemed unfazed and we went up to Norden, where we watched the engine run around, and then a nice journey back to Swanage, so lovely wandering the platforms looking at the engine, and having yet more pics taken.

We drove back to the cottage, and had a nice sit down, we were going to eat in tonight and decided on collecting a Chinese takeaway from Wareham, B allowed me to order and collect, and we had a really nice relaxing evening with a bottle of wine
