Full Day Out

B and I  had decided to try for a couple of things, shopping in the morning and a visit to Batemans in the afternoon, so up early and ready well before B, but thats how I like it, like to be prepared and relaxed, we were going shopping in Tunbridge Wells, so B drove us up there, top down as the weather was so nice, we parked, and started with a wander around the shopping arcade, have to say Tunbridge has gone down a lot since the last time we were there, so many closed shops,  still we started with coffee, and then on to a trawl of the charity shops, I wanted a pinafore dress, like one of the girls at work was wearing the other day.

Found a lovely skirt in the first shop, tried it on in the changing room, lady was very nice, loved the skirt, soft and silky just above my knees, then on to another shop, where I found a pinafore just like I wanted, grey tweed, mid thigh, will look lovely with opaque’s and boots in the winter, tried it on, and think it looked fine, so bought that along with a top for B, the lady asked if I had tried on the top, as she thought it might be a size smaller than it was marked, I just smiled and said it was for my friend,  she was very chatty

We looked for shoes, and did try on some in a shop, B bought a pair, but I decided not to get them, shop assistant was very attentive, bit too much really, anyway, did find some ankle boots in another shop, just managed to get them on, if they had been a gnats larger I would have bought them, 5 inch heel, with 1 inch platform, totally impracticable, but loved them, but just that bit too small to wear for more than a few minutes lol, wil keep looking.

B said I had a few looks, must admit, looking at the pics now, maybe that dress is a little short for leggings, think it would be ok with boots, but will have to be more careful in future,

Spent a couple of hours browsing around, but didnt buy anything else, after that we decided to move on

We were going to Batemans in the afternoon, but the traffic was awful, so in the end we decided to go to Scotney Castle instead, as it was on the way.

Got there OK, and I had bought a change of clothes, had to change in the car, which was tricky, but ok in the end, I changed into a dress B had bought me.

B went in first, and I followed after a visit to the ladies, to freshen my make up, always love that! Young girl had a good look at my card, and a good look at me, but was nice and chatty asking if I was going in the house, and did I need a map. B was just inside the door, so we greeted each other with a kiss, and decided lunch was the priority, found a seat outside as the weather was lovely, and had cheese scones and tea, so nice to be in the courtyard just listening to the chatter going on around us, mingling in.

We had decided not to go into the house, we had been before, and wasn’t impressed, but remembered the garden as lovely, and it was, we just wandered about, chatting looking at the views, arm in arm sometimes, when B forgot herself! The Trust had opened up part of the old castle in the grounds, so we had a good look around there, wasn’t open the last time we went, there were lots of people about, but plenty of room, just to wander, and enjoy ourselves, B taking lots of pics, of the gardens and me.

After our wander we finished up back at the cafe, where we had an ice cream, very sensual licking that in public lol again just sitting and watching the world go by.

Spent a few hours there, so decided to head back to the cottage, when B asked me if I fancied going out for dinner, well, what do you think, I did!

B had booked a table in a restaurant in Battle that we had both fancied going to, place called Simply Italian, she had asked for a secluded table for two, I was excited but a little nervous too.

Back at our cottage B had a sit down, while I preened myself, decided to wear my new skirt,  with tan tights, and an orange top with black cardi, also changed my hair, table was booked for half seven.

We parked, and walked down the main street, fairly quiet, but still plenty people about, we went into the restaurant, the owner greeted us, and said he had a lovely table put aside for us by the window, it was really lovely , we had a table in the window, so we could look down on the street, still in the main body of the restaurant, but just a little apart, we started with a couple of glasses of wine, with our starter, Cheesy garlic bread between us, then for the main I had meatballs and spaghetti, the waiter and owner were so nice, kept looking after us making sure every thing was fine, we just  sat and talked and relaxed and ate and drank, finishing off with a huge ice cream between us with coffee (going to be a serious diet when we get home)
